The culinary creation is a fusion of a croissant and a donut, and originates from Dominique Ansel's Bakery in New York City. Lines have formed around the bakery every morning at around 5 a.m., with people clamoring to try the new, flaky treat.

While the name "cronut," is copyrighted, a Westchester bakery has put its own spin on the fad.

Sweet and Social, located in Larchmont, has been selling "cronuts" since Tuesday.

Beth Feldman, owner of the bakery, said, "We just started making them. Some of them are filled and some are plain - it's like a double stacked donut with flakey sort of feel to it."

Though not many people from Larchmont know what a cronut is, the bakery sold out of them in two days.

"Two or three people came in knowing what they were because they spend time in the city. Once people figure it out, I think we'll be selling out of them quickly," she said.

If you're cronut-curious and don't want to wait in line for hours, Sweet and Social sells them in seven different varieties -- plain, sugared, filled and chocolate, strawberry, vanilla or caramel frosted.

"A guy who came in was telling me that he stood in line one morning for them in the city. There, they're $5 each and you can only get two at a time. So he bought two and put up a Craigslist ad for one of them. He sold it for $250," she said.

Luckily, Sweet and Social's only cost $3.The bakery is located at 1935 Palmer Ave.
