Top 10 of 2011: Saxon Woods Sex Sting

LARCHMONT, N.Y. – Throughout the next week, The Daily Larchmont will recap 10 local stories that made headlines in 2011 and provide any available updates. They are in no particular order.

Today, The Daily Larchmont looks back on the Saxon Woods Sex Sting that exposed 16 men, including one from Larchmont, for forcible touching and/or lewd behavior.

4) Law enforcement agencies learned Saxon Woods Park has become a "destination" for anonymous sex when county police arrested 16 men in Operation Overexposed. However, details about the sex sting became scarce after Westchester acknowledged it illegally released sealed court cases when sending mug shots and arrest information to the press.

It is unclear whether Saxon Woods Park still functions as a place for people to meet and hook up. However, no additional public lewdness or forcible touching charges related to incidents in the park have been reported to the media.
