- Mamaroneck’s Humberto Campeche, 43, was part of a group of six co-workers at Yonkers' Micromold Engineered Plastics who won the $1 million March 23 Powerball drawing . The prize was divided six ways among the group. After withholdings, it amounted to $108,000 to $110,000 for each.
- "X-Factor" star Carly Rose Sonenclar has her first concert coming up Aug. 10 in New York City. Tickets went on sale this week, with an exclusive pre-sale for her fan club, Carly's Angels.
- Hommocks Middle School teacher Michael Wing won a national award for his use of iPads in the classroom and his after-school work with at-risk students. "I'm very humbled; I'm very honored to be the recipient this year," he said.
