Village of Mamaroneck Police Blotter: June 17-23

MAMARONECK, N.Y. - The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department charged five people with driving while intoxicated over the last week, three of which were stopped at a check point that sectioned off a portion of Mamaroneck Ave in the overnight hours of June 18. Timothy Cornelis of Milford, CT, Luis Barahona of New Rochelle and Jose Jaime of Stamford, CT were all stopped at the check point and arrested. Additionally, one 18-year-old from the Village of Mamaroneck was charged with having his ability impaired by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana at the same check point.

Larceny: Police arrested two men from Hempstead, NY who tried to steal approximately $1,700 in merchandise from a store on Boston Post Rd. Both Anthony Mills, 46, and Frederick Bowers, 59, have been charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. Mills has also been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. He attempted to flee the scene in a car drawn by Bowers.

Hit and Run: A vehicle parked in the Mamaroneck High School senior lot on June 17 was hit while unoccupied.

Identity Theft: A Stanley Ave resident reported June 17 that an unknown person used their credit card to purchase items, valued at approximately $240.

Identity Theft: A Mamaroneck Ave resident reported June 17 that someone tried to open a credit card in their name, but was declined. No money was lost.

Arrest: Jose Diaz (28) of the Village of Mamaroneck was charged June 17 with unlawful possession of marijuana and three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Arrest: A 20-year-old Mt. Vernon resident was charged June 17 with unlawful possession of marijuana on Madison St.

Assault: A 22-year-old female from Mt. Vernon got into an altercation with an unknown male in the overnight hours of June 18 on Mamaroneck Ave, and was taken to Sound Shore Hospital with neck pain.

Criminal Mischief: A Rushmore Ave resident reported June 18 damage to the transom and sliding doors on their boat of approximately $3,000.

Larceny: A W. Boston Post Rd resident reported June 20 that their unlocked bicycle had been stolen, valued at approximately $400.

Larceny: A Maple Ave resident reported June 21 that their bicycle was taken from their backyard, valued at approximately $200.

Arrest: A 20-year-old male from the Village of Mamaroneck was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of alcohol June 22
