LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- The Larchmont Water Department is repairing a leak on Chatsworth Avenue between Roosevelt Avenue and Forest Part Avenue, limiting traffic both ways to one lane Tuesday morning.
Don Bouchard of the Water Department said the leak was limited to a service line feeding one home. Public Works Department employees excavated the road above the service line, then used a vacuum truck to suck up the dirt immediately surrounding it.
"We're going to get down there, put a new line in and fill it up," said Bouchard, who estimated they would complete work by 11 a.m.
The owner of the home affected by the leak reported a problem with service last Friday and set up the repair for today.
