The Laagers and the Hochs are among the Museum’s longest standing and most significant donors to date. They will be honored at the "Doors Are Open Cocktail Party and Fundraiser," on Tuesday, April 12 from 6 to 9 p.m.
With the completion of this construction, the Westchester Children’s Museum is now a fully operational institution, offering 6,500 square feet of exhibit and program space. The official Museum opening is April 13, a day after the museum hosts its “Doors Open” Celebration.
“The significance of opening our doors on a permanent basis cannot be understated,” said Tracy R. Kay, executive director of the Westchester Children’s Museum. “In order to get to this point, we must acknowledge and thank the critical and longstanding support of such donors as Lisina Hoch and Alix Laager, as well as our Board of Directors and our growing community of donors in the private, public, and corporate sectors. We look forward to further growing and serving the children and families of this region for generations to come.”
Hoch is one of the museum’s lead donors and most committed supporters. Laager, whose family is also among the museum’s lead donors, is a founding board member, a former board president, and chair of the Exhibit Committee. "At the Doors Are Open Cocktail Party," the museum will name a gallery in recognition of the families’ significant support. The Hoch Laager Boardwalk Gallery will one day be home to the water play exhibits including “Water in the Natural Environment” exhibit for which the Hochs and Laagers have earmarked funds.
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
