Westchester Will Enjoy A Warmer First Day Of Winter

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Winter in Westchester will come in like a lamb on Saturday, Dec. 21, with temperatures expected in the 50s and 60s in some areas of the county as Christmas approaches.

The National Weather Service weekend forecast calls for mild weather and the possibility of rain on Sunday.

The Winter Solstice, which marks the beginning of winter, occurs on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at 12:11 p.m. Eastern time. There will be only nine hours and 32 minutes of daylight.
