MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Here's a look at events happening around Mamaroneck this week, including government meetings and community happenings. See our events listings for more events.

Monday

Green Screen Film Festival: 7:30 p.m. Carbon Nation will be shown at the Mamaroneck Town Center, Conference Room C., 740 W. Boston Post Road. Sierra Club activist George Klein will speak after the film. 

Mamaroneck Village Board of Trustees Meeting: 7:30 p.m. At the top of the agenda is a public hearing to consider exceeding the 2 percent tax levy cap. The board will also consider a proposed zoning text amendment to allow a private school in the M1 district (Industrial District). The French American School of New York, which requested the amendment, plans to expand to 525 Waverly Ave. to accommodate increased capacity requirements for grades 11-12.

Tuesday

Mamaroneck Village Night Court: 8 p.m. Night Court will be held at 8 p.m. in the Village Courtroom at 169 Mount Pleasant Ave. 

Hommocks Sports Interest Meeting: 7 p.m. There will be a sports interest meeting for students at 2:45 p.m., followed by a parents' sports information meeting at 7 p.m. at the Hommocks.

Mamaroneck Town Recreation Commission: 7:30 p.m. This commission meets on the second Tuesday of the month and reviews and recommends recreation programs, activities and the development or expansion of facilities. VFW, 1280 W. Boston Post Road.

Wednesday

Over 40 Females Networking Luncheon: 11:30 a.m. Guest speaker Cathy Wilke will talk about "Creating Strategic Alliances" at Plates Restaurant. Lunch will be $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers. RSVP to Phyllis, chapter director, at nyover40females@aol.com.

Mamaroneck Village Planning Board Meeting: 7 p.m. This board meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in the Village Courtroom.

Mamaroneck Village Council of the Arts Meeting: 7 p.m. This council meets on the first Wednesday of the month in the Mamaroneck Library Multi-Purpose Room.

Mamaroneck Town Planning Board Meeting: 8 p.m. This board meets on the second Wednesday of the month and reviews plans for the development of vacant areas, streets and parks. It also reviews permits for subdivisions, site plans, freshwater wetlands and special uses. Mamaroneck Town Center, Conference Room C.

Thursday

School Superintendent's Conference Day: There is no school for students.

Mamaroneck Village Board of Architectural Review Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The board will consider five applications.
