Monday, April 9

Digital Literacy Week: 3 and 6 p.m. The Mamaroneck Library will host a week of lectures and tutorials on digital technology, beginning at 3 p.m. with "How To Get Free e-Books at Your Library," a presentation by the Westchester Library System's director of technology. Then at 6 p.m., Lance Pendleton from MacInspires will present "How To Use the iPad." Mamaroneck Library, 136 Prospect Ave.

Larchmont–Mamaroneck Senior Center Art Show: All day. This is the 39th annual exhibit, featuring the works of 25 seniors attending the art class led by artist and instructor Patricia Sutherland. Artworks in oil, watercolors, acrylics, pastels and graphic pencil will be hung in the Larchmont Library's Orseman Gallery throughout April. Larchmont Library, 121 Larchmont Ave.

Village Board of Trustees Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The agenda this week includes a public hearing on the French American School of New York's petition for a zoning amendment that would allow it to use its administrative offices at 525 Fenimore Road as classrooms to accommodate growing occupancy needs. A special permit is needed because the office isn't zoned for such a use. The permit would be for three years. Village of Mamaroneck Courtroom, 169 Mount Pleasant Ave.

Tuesday, April 10

Adult Introduction to Email Class: 10 a.m. As part of Digital Literacy Week at the Mamaroneck Library, patrons will learn how to use email. To register, call 914-630-5887. Mamaroneck Library, 136 Prospect Ave.

Beginner Computer Classes: 10 a.m. Computer beginners will learn how to use a mouse and other basic computer skills at the Mamaroneck Library. Each class consists of two sessions during the course of a week, and participants must attend both sessions. The second class will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Call 698-1250 ext. 3 to reserve a space. Mamaroneck Lions Club Meeting: 12:15 p.m. The Lions Club meets every Tuesday at Chef Antonio Ristorante, 551 Halstead Ave.

Village Budget Work Session: 5:30 p.m. The Board of Trustees will meet with department heads to discuss the tentative 2012-13 budget. Village Courtroom, 169 Mount Pleasant Ave.

Wednesday, April 11

Technology Petting Zoo: 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. As part of Digital Literacy Week at the Mamaroneck Library, patrons can get their hands on the following digital devices to learn how they work:

  • iPad, 10:30 a.m.  
  • Nook, 2 p.m.
  • Kindle, 3:30 p.m. 
Village Planning Board Meeting: 7 p.m. The board will meet in the Village Courtroom to consider two old and two new applications. Village Courtroom, 169 Mount Pleasant Ave. Town Planning Board Meeting: Rescheduled for April 18.

Thursday, April 12

Village Board of Traffic Commissioners Meeting: 7:30 p.m. This board meets the second Thursday of the month in the Village Courtroom, 169 Mount Pleasant Ave.

Technology for Teens: 1 p.m. As part of Digital Literacy Week, teens can learn about the Kindle Fire and other e-readers in the Teen Library on the bottom floor of the Mamaroneck Library.
