MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Tutorials on mobile devices and downloadable e-books and audio books, auditions for a musical and an indoor famers market are a few events scheduled for the weekend.
- Technology Petting Zoo for Kids, 10 a.m. - noon; 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
As part of Digital Literacy Week at the Mamaroneck Library, kids can drop into the Mamaroneck Library's Children's Room and play with various digital devices, including the iPad, Nook and Kindle. Mamaroneck Library, 136 Prospect Ave.
- Open Call Audition for Smokey Joe's Cafe, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The Westchester Sandbox Theatre (WST) is holding open call auditions for their main stage production of Smokey Joe's Cafe, which will run from June 29 to July 8 at the Emelin Theatre - rehearsals begin June 18. The WST asks you bring a headshot and resume and be prepared to sing two contrasting 16-bar cuts in the style of the show - an accompanist will be provided. The five male roles and four female roles being cast pay $150 per week. Auditions, as well as call backs will be held at Ripley Grier Studios, 520 8th Ave., 16th floor, NYC.
- Ailey II at the Emelin Theatre, 8 p.m.
Ailey II , a dance performance, is returning to the Emelin. It is renowned for merging the spirit of the best young dance talent with the passion of today's most outstanding emerging choreographers. Tickets are $44 and $22 for students. Emelin Theatre, 153 Library Lane.
- Mamaroneck Indoor Farmers Market , 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
This winter famers market is held every Saturday through May 19 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 168 W. Boston Post Road.
- Digital Literacy Week, 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Digital Literacy Week concludes with the final technology petting zoo in the community room, during which all patrons can familiarize themselves with a mobile device, including the iPad, Nook and Kindle. Then, at 1:30 p.m. there will be a tutorial on how to use the iPad, also in the community room. Mamaroneck Library, 136 Prospect Ave.
