MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- This weekend residents can enjoy an international dinner at Hommocks Middle School, spend a night at the races, take a trip through Chinese history at the Mamaroneck Library and go through the Mamaroneck School District 2012-2013 budget with the Board of Education.
Hommocks International Dinner: 7:30 p.m. This event will be held at the Hommocks Middle School gym.
Mimi Stevens Solo Exhibit: 12 to 5 p.m. The Mamaroneck Artists Guild features an exhibit by Mimi Stevens, "Paintings 2001-2012." The exhibit will be up through March 24. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. The Mamaroneck Artists Guild, 126 Larchmont Ave.
Rye Neck PTSA Spring Fair: 11 a.m. This event will be held at the Rye Neck Middle School/High School campus on 310 Hornidge Road from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mamaroneck School Board Meeting: 9 a.m. The Board of Education will go through its 2012-2013 budget line-by-line. The board estimates that from 9 to 11 a.m. it will review transportation and programs related to teaching and learning. Then from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. it will review all line items related to administration and capital. The meeting will be open to public comment. Mamaroneck Indoor Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 168 W. Boston Post Road.
Mamaroneck Avenue School International Fair: 11 a.m. This event will be held at the Mamaroneck Avenue School at 800 Mamaroneck Ave. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Ugly Duckling & The Tortoise and the Hare: 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. These two classic tales will be presented on stage and combine theatre and dance with technology. Tickets are $18 for adults and $13 children, ages four and up. Emelin Theatre, 153 Library Lane.
Willy Wonka: 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. This version of the classic book-turned-movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" will be performed by a cast of adults and teens for kids and their families. Performances are Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Sunday at noon. Tickets are $10. Westchester Sandbox Theatre, 931 East Boston Post Rd.
Introduction to Shen Yun: 2 p.m. Learn more about Chinese history, its classic stories, rich traditions and art forms. Shen Yun is classical Chinese dance, which the presenter will explain is used to express Chinese civilization and its values. Mamaroneck Library Community Room, 136 Prospect Ave.
Night at the Races: 6:30 p.m. The Mamaroneck Lions Club will hold this event for the first time. Attendees will pay a $20 cover charge for dinner and can bet on at least five races, featuring wooden horses. The menu includes chicken, fish, sausage, pasta, vegetables, salads and desserts and there will also be a cash a bar. Winners will receive gifts and the proceeds of the night will benefit local organizations that benefit the seeing and hearing impaired.
