What's On the Agenda in Mamaroneck?

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Following the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, residents will have plenty of opportunities to get involved in their local government this week.

Tuesday

The village Mamaroneck Avenue Task Force Committee will meet at 12:30 p.m. in the Regatta.

The village Board of Trustees will hold a work session at 5:30 p.m. in the Regatta Conference Room, where they will discuss financing the replacement of the Jefferson Avenue Bridge. The contracted engineering firm WSP Sells told the village last week it will cost $3,422,273.90. The bridge, built in 1931, is in need of replacement due to wear and tear over the years. It has also been identified as an obstruction to the flow of the Mamaroneck River, and a contributing factor to neighborhood flooding during heavy rainfalls. The new bridge, the plans for which are 98 percent complete, will lessen that obstruction.
