Anne Jackson, 76, Former Mamaroneck Resident

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. – Anne Jackson, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1978, and previously of Mamaroneck, died Wednesday, April 20. She was 76.

She was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Mount Vernon, to John Stephen and Gertrude (Vonderhyde) Schumacher. 

She was a graduate of Mamaroneck High School where she served as the captain of the Rifle Team.

 She was a mother, Girl Scout Leader, member of the garden club in Mamaroneck and seamstress. She was a very active member and deacon of the Hopewell Reformed Church. She was also head of maintenance at Hopewell Reformed Church, and the founder of the Church Food Closet. She had also worked at Sew Fro Fabric in Poughkeepsie for several years. 

On July 15, 1961, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Larchmont, she married Leslie Thomas Jackson.

She is survived by her husband; children, Deborah Porco and her husband, Dom, of Wappingers Falls, Bonnie Luhrs of Hopewell Junction, Katherine Perez of Hopewell Junction, Richard Jackson and his wife, Tracy, of Goshen, David Jackson and his wife, Kiesha, of Hopewell Junction and Barbara Lenz and her husband, Brian, of Lagrangeville; grandchildren, Amanda Porco, Sarah Maley, Joshua, Christina Porco and Eric Clermont, Steven Luhrs, Jennifer, Brian Luhrs, Mitchell Luhrs, Chad Perez, Karissa Perez, Ryan Jackson, Dylan Jackson, Shannan Jackson, Logan Jackson, Victoria Lenz and Tyler Lenz; three great-grandchildren, Annalise Luhrs, Mason Luhrs, and Oliver Jackson; and her brother, Stephen Schumacher and his wife, Maria, of Larchmont.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Joachim Luhrs.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.
