LARCHMONT, N.Y. - Betty Timberlake Trippett of Larchmont died April 24. She was 88.
Trippett was born in 1924 to John Edward and Nannie Boggs Timberlake in Fredericksburg, Va. She attended Mary Baldwin College and transferred to Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, where she graduated with a BS in 1946. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1950 from the nursing school of the Medical College of Virginia and worked as a surgical nurse in Richmond, Va. She married author and journalist Frank Trippett in 1951 in Fredericksburg, and they moved to Tallahassee, Fla., in 1955 and later to Larchmont in 1961. She was an office manager for the Westchester Council of the Arts and worked as an RN at New Rochelle Hospital.
Trippett is survived by children, John G. Trippett (Virginia), Bess T. Rathbone (Kevin), Robert L. Trippett (Laurie), and Nan T. Widdop; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband.
