LARCHMONT, N.Y. - Christa Adelheid Capodanno (nee Herda) of Larchmont died June 2. She was 83.
Capodanno was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Striegelmuehle, Germany, to Heinrich and Hedwig (Machner) Herda. She grew up in Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1957.
Capodanno is survived by her husband, Gaetano “Bill” Capodanno; children, Andrea Capodanno and Angela Barbella (John); two grandchildren; siblings, Heinrich Herda (Treuhild) and Monika Lindner (Volker); many nieces, nephews; and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Georg; and nephew, Jan.
Calling hours are Wednesday, June 5 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home 767 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6 at St’s. John & Paul RC Church followed by interment at Beechwood Cemetery in New Rochelle.
