Manion was born Nov. 27, 1933, in Cambridge, Mass., son of Joseph Manion and Jeannette MacPherson Manion, he was raised in Waltham, Mass., graduating from St. Mary’s High School before serving as an M.P. in the Army for two years. He graduated from Fordham University. He worked with Merrill Lynch in Brooklyn, in finance until his retirement. He was a resident of Larchmont for more than 50 years, and a longtime member of the Larchmont Yacht Club.
Manion is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Jenny Manion Fox, Don Jr., Chuck (Liliana), Molly Moran (Paul), Kate, Patrick (Jane), Peter (Danielle), Paul (Deena), Mac, and Maggie Wakefield (Eric); 20 grandchildren.
Visiting will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the John J. Fox Funeral Home, Inc., in Larchmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Church in Larchmont. Interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye will follow.
