Ida Cesario, 84, of Mamaroneck

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Ida Cesario, a former longtime resident of New Rochelle, died July 9. She was 84. 

Cesario was born Sept. 19, 1927, in Italy to Giuseppe and Angelina Palermo. She worked as a teacher’s assistant for the New Rochelle Board of Education for many years.

On April 27, 1946, she married Antonio Cesario. Most recently of Mamaroneck, Cesario enjoyed cooking and baking, as well as entertaining her family and friends. 

She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Apicella; and a grandson and two great-grandsons. Her husband died on June 23, 1995. She was also predeceased by a son, Anthony Cesario; a brother, Anthony Palermo; and a sister, Santa Richichi. 

Visiting hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
