LARCHMONT, N.Y. - Jean Sutter Penn, a Larchmont resident for 40 years, died Tuesday, Sept. 3. She was 93.
Penn was born Jean Elizabeth Sutter Sept. 17, 1919, in Hitchcock, South Dakota, to Louis Sutter and Theresa Anderson. During World War II, she worked for National Airlines, eventually settling in New York City. Thereafter, she worked in the fashion industry. She attended St. John’s Episcopal Church and was a member of the Winged Foot Golf Club and the Larchmont Yacht Club.
Penn is survived by daughters, Valerie Youngblood of Brooklyn, Victoria Beaman of Nashville, Tenn., Cordelia Jeffreys of Ortley Beach, N.J.; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, J. Vaughn Penn,
The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 4 Fountain Square in Larchmont, followed by a luncheon.
