John Adam Steinmetz, 94, Longtime Resident Of Mamaroneck, Design Engineer

MAMARONECK, N.Y. — John Adam Steinmetz, a longtime resident of Mamaroneck, died March 5. He was 94.

Steinmetz was born in the Bronx. He completed college at New York University, and then worked as a design engineer at Pitney Bowes and Diamond International. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary's Flotilla 63 and a long time member of Orienta and Sheldrake Yacht Clubs.

Steimetz is survived by his wife, Ester; a daughter, Marilyn (Matt); two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the near future at Kendal on Hudson, Sleepy Hollow. The Assumma-ShankeyFuneral Home, 34 N. Summit Street, Pearl River, tel. (845) 735-4849, is handling arrangements.
