Mackenzie was born in Scotland on Sept. 5, 1930, and immigrated to the United States with his wife and son in 1957. He spent his professional career working for IBM.
Upon retiring, Mackenzie dedicated his life to giving back to the community through the Benevolent Order of Elks, where he held positions as grand exalted ruler and state vice president.
Mackenzie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn; his son, David and his wife, Paula, of Westford, Mass. Another son, Peter, predeceased him.
