LARCHMONT, N.Y. Kathleen "Kitty" Harrington, a longtime Larchmont resident, died Tuesday, June 26. She was 98.
Harrington was born Sept. 12, 1913, in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland. She immigrated to the U.S. as a young girl and married Michael Harrington in 1939. She was a founding parishioner of Sts. John and Paul Church in Larchmont, where she served on the altar guild.
She was also active in the Columbiettes, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the American Irish Association. Harrington enjoyed spending time with family and friends, swimming, gardening, sewing, baking, dancing, reading, a good chat, and praying for and with others.
Harrington is survived by two sons, Michael (Gail) and Denis (Lynn); a daughter, Mary; a sister, Margaret; a daughter-in-law, Christine Harrington; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband; two sons, Donald and John; three sisters, Mary, Nora and Sheila; and three brothers, John, Denis and Michael.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sts. John and Paul Church in Larchmont. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
