Luigi Carducci, 88, Mamaroneck Construction Worker

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Luigi Michele Carducci of Mamaroneck died Tuesday, Sept. 18. He was 88. 

Born Jan. 1, 1924, in Arce, Frosinone, Italy, he was the son of Eleuterio and Angela Grella Carducci. He served in the Italian Army during World War II and immigrated to the U.S. in the summer of 1956. 

Carducci worked in construction for Carducci Construction Co. He was a parishioner at St. Vito's Church and an avid gardener. 

He is survived by his wife, Paulina Sorcio Carducci; two children, Angela (Nicholas) Vetrano and Concetta (Bill) Griese; two sisters-in-law, Rose and Marianna; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carolina Sbardella Carducci; three siblings, John, Joseph and Crescenzo; and a sister-in-law, Angela. 

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vito's Church in Mamaroneck. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Port Chester.
