Marcelle W. Peterka, 101, Volunteer French Teacher At Mamaroneck School

MAMARONECK, N.Y. - Marcelle W. Peterka of Mamaroneck died Dec. 19. She was 101.

Peterka was born in Belgium and came to America in 1946. She was active in her community as a member and past president of the Women's Club, and a supporter of The Girl Scouts of America. She was a volunteer French teacher in Mamaroneck school as well as a Sunday school teacher at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church.

Peterka is survived by her daughter, Christine Springer of Alexandria, Va.; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Adolph.

A memorial gathering to honor Peterka’s life will be held Saturday, Dec. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home, 767 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scholarship Fund of the Mamaroneck Women's Club.
