Patricia Sullivan, 67, Librarian From Larchmont

LARCHMONT, N.Y. – Patricia "Pat" Harvey Sullivan died July 30 at her home in Larchmont after an intermittent, 26-year battle with cancer. She was 67.

Born April 1, 1945, she grew up in Pelham Manor and graduated from the Ursuline School. Sullivan earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from the College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station, N.J.

After graduating from St. Elizabeth's, Sullivan spent 14 years on Manhattan's Upper East Side, performing with the Blue Hill Troupe. She met her husband, Dermod, in 1977. Sullivan then rose up the ranks in advertising, becoming an account executive at Benton & Bowles.

After having her first son, Conor, she decided to leave her advertising career behind and raise a family. She later returned to school and received a master's degree in library science from Queens College.

Sullivan became a part-time librarian in a number of towns in Westchester County for almost 20 years. Her leisure time was spent playing with the Winged Foot Niners, participating in Larchmont book groups, singing in the Sts. John and Paul Church choir and playing bridge.

She was especially proud of her published book, "Raccoons and Their Relatives." Sullivan's family said she carried herself with dignity and style, always looking her best, with an ever-present smile.

Sullivan is survived by her husband, Dermod; two sons, Conor and Griffin; a brother and sister-in law, Frank Harvey and Jean Wilhelm; and a nephew.

A wake will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church of St. Augustine in Larchmont.
