Peter G. Argüeso, 83, Worked For M. Argüeso & Company, Inc. in Mamaroneck

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Peter Gerard Argüeso of Fort Myers died Oct. 27. He was 83.

Argüeso was born Jan. 9, 1931, in New York City, to Luis Manuel and Dorothy (Benziger) Argüeso. He attended Canterbury School in New Milford, Conn., then went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Economics at Villanova University. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, retiring in 1961 as lieutenant. He worked in the fourth generation family business at M. Argüeso & Company, Inc. in Mamaroneck, N.Y. He retired after more than 40 years, serving most recently as president and chairman of the Board of Directors. He was a member of the Sanibel-Captiva Sail & Power Squadron in Florida.

Argüeso is survived by his wife Carol; children, Michael Argüeso, Susan Barnes, Cheryl Chiappinelli, David Argüeso, and Nancy Cohen; and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Luis M. Argüeso, Jr.; and sister, Ann A. Wolff.  

A graveside service will be held Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
