Ralph James Ruocco, 98, Of Mamaroneck

MAMARONECK, N.Y. - Ralph James Ruocco of Mamaroneck died Aug. 17. He was 98.

Ruocco was a former resident of Lincoln, Mass., Newport, R.I., and Cape Coral, Fla., he was a businessman, community volunteer and artist. His community centered life included; president of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, honorary harbor master of Newport Harbor during the 1976 Tall Ships Bicentennial event, a longtime volunteer at Cape Coral Hospital,and  chairman of the Cape Coral Planning and Zoning Commission from 1994 until 2004, when he moved to Mamaroneck. In 2008 he served on the 2025 Vision Committee for The Village of Mamaroneck.

Ruocco is survived by his children, Caroline Scott, Maria Paige, Joseph Ruocco (Vickie Hage), and Teresa Beasley (Roger); seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Isabel; and five siblings.

A private Memorial Mass will be held.
