Counterfeit Money, Tools Stolen From Rooftop Reported In Mamaroneck

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Village Square Bagels told police someone used two counterfeit $20 bills at their store Monday, Mamaroneck Town police said.

The bagel shop discovered the counterfeit money in their register at the end of the day Monday, but didn’t know who used it to pay, police said. A suspect would face the charge of criminal possession of a forged instrument, a misdemeanor.

Last week, contractors renovating a Mamaroneck Town home reported someone stole several of their tools worth a total of about $1,000 that were left at the location, police said.

The suspect is unknown, but would face one count of fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

The contractor told police their tools were stolen sometime between the afternoon of May 4 and the morning of May 6. The tools were left on the roof the Fenimore Road home.
