Larchmont PetCo Has Brush With Thieves

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The Mamaroneck Police Department is investigating the theft of $600 worth of FURminators from PetCo on West Boston Post Road in Larchmont last week.

A FURminator is a patented dog brush that helps with the de-shedding of long-haired dogs. According to the police report, each FURminator is worth approximately $60 and 10 were stolen from the store.

An employee called police on June 13 to report the theft and said he saw two white men leaving the store with the items, according to police.

Identity Theft: A woman filed a police report on June 14 claiming that she had her identity stolen and a Bank of America credit card opened under her name. Police have obtained copies of a bank statement as evidence and are investigating the possible identity theft.

Hit-and-Runs: Two hit-and-run accidents were reported this past week. On June 15, a woman’s car was struck on Durham Road at approximately 2 a.m. On June 17, a woman’s car was struck between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the Nautilus Diner parking lot on West Boston Post Road. Both hit-and-runs are under investigation by the Mamaroneck Police Department.
