Mamaroneck Cops: Man Charged In Larceny

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Village police apprehended a New Rochelle man on Wednesday morning after he was accused of attempting to take money out of a fraudulent account at a bank on West Boston Post Road.

Rafael Garcia, 45, was charged with third degree grand larceny, attempted petty larceny and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

According to police, Garcia was attempting to cash a check for $440 from a fraudulent account. He also was accused of stealing approximately $4,500 from various bank branches in the local area since February.

A bank teller called the police when it was suspected that Garcia was trying to cash a check from a fraudulent account. He was to be arraigned in village court on Thursday.
