Mamaroneck Firefighters Extinguish Luxury Apartment Dumpster Fire

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck firefighters extinguished a fire that originated in a dumpster next to The Cambium luxury apartment building on Monday afternoon.

The fire broke out about 3:30 p.m. at 10 Byron Place in Larchmont.

About 49 units are occupied, but no one was hurt.

According to a witness, the flames shot up from the dumpster and through a vertical garbage chute, following it high into the air, but the flames did not enter any of the building's windows.
