Mamaroneck Police Investigating Three Burglaries

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Mostly electronics and cash were taken in three home burglaries in Mamaroneck over the weekend.

Two burglaries were reported to the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department simultaneously at 2 a.m. Saturday.

On Oakdale Road, the resident of a single-family house reported that $400 in cash and a Nikon DSLR camera worth $1,500 was taken, along with a pair of sunglasses.

On Stratford Road, an iPhone and $150 in cash were taken from a single-family house.

At 3:15 a.m. Saturday a third burglary was reported on Bonnie Blair Lane. The homeowners reported that an iPad valued at $700, a Canon camera valued at $500, a Flip Camera valued at $300 and fourth item valued at $60 had been taken.

“I can’t say there is a tie-in, but there could be,” said Lt. Paul Creazzo of the Mamaroneck Police Deparment.

Creazzo said residents should be more conscious about locking their doors, because many burglaries in Mamaroneck Town involve homes and vehicles that have been left unlocked.

The following item also was reported by Mamaroneck Town police:

Marijuana Possession: Two adults and a youth were charged Sunday with unlawful possession of marijuana. The three were pulled over on Murray Avenue around 11 p.m. Police searched the vehicle and found 14 bags of marijuana, totaling 17 grams. In the car they also found an empty prescription bottle of hydrocodone, a paintball gun with paintballs and a fake can of soda with an interior hiding compartment, according to the police report. Steven Nakita Fabiano, 19, of Lester Avenue and Robert Autera, 19, of Baldwin Place were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. The third person, whose name was withheld because of his age, was charged as a youthful offender.
