Peekskill resident Lider Velez, 49, the former head janitor of the village, has been sentenced to five months of shock probation with sex offender conditions and will have to register as a sex offender upon his release, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced.

Velez was arrested on June 21 last year after another worker found a hidden camera in a public restroom in Ossining Village Hall. Police alleged that the camera was placed there by Velez, capturing women on camera as they used the facilities.

Police said that no members of the public were filmed, and they checked each bathroom in Village Hall to ensure that no other cameras were installed.
