MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Multiple accidents involving drivers side-swiping other vehicles were reported to the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department over the last week.

Overall, police responded to five side-swiping accidents since Aug. 1.

On Monday afternoon, Aug. 6, a woman driving a 2012 Volkswagen on Murray Avenue hit a parked 1995 Toyota, causing damage to both vehicles.

Two accidents were reported Sunday, Aug. 5. Just after midnight a 2003 Toyota was traveling west on Palmer Avenue when, the driver told police, an eastbound car crossed the double-yellow line, causing her to swerve into a parked 2008 Subaru. And around 8 a.m., the owner of a 2007 Toyota convertible came out to find her car damaged on the driver’s side. She said the other car was nowhere to be seen.

A parked 2004 truck was struck by another vehicle Friday, Aug. 3, on Mohegan Road. According to the accident report, the driver of the 2008 Honda was traveling north on Mohegan when she hit the truck while going around a bend. There was no one in the truck at the time. Both vehicles were damaged.

A 2013 Nissan was damaged by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday, Aug. 1. The owner came out of her home around 7:30 a.m. to find that her driver’s side mirror was damaged.
