Alexi Hernandez, 20, and Jose Orozco, 19, were arrested in Rye Town Park about 12:30 p.m. after police responded to a report of a stolen car, police said.
Upon patrol officers arrival in Rye Town Park, the stolen vehicle was immediately located and four occupants ere observed.
The driver fled on foot, police said, but was apprehended three blocks away after a foot chase by Rye Police Officers Christine Incalcatera and Sgt. Julio Rossi.
The passengers of the vehicle were apprehended by Rye Police Officer Joseph Cancel and Police Officer Mauricio Gomez.
The driver of vehicle, Alexi Hernandez, was found to be in possession of marijuana, police said.
A passenger in the vehicle, Jose Orozco also was found in possession of marijuana, police said.
Hernandez was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Orozco was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Both suspects were sent to Westchester County Jail and are due to appear in Rye City Court on May 31. .
