Smash-And-Grab Car Break-In Spree Strikes Mamaroneck Village

MAMARONECK, N.Y. — The windows of a number of cars parked in multiple locations were smashed and items were taken, the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department said.  

The break-ins happened overnight and were reported Saturday morning. 

Several car break-ins and thefts at a parking lot on West Boston Post Road were reported at 8:03 a.m., police said.

Copper wire worth $1,200 was stolen overnight from a parked car on Fenimore Road, the owner reported to police at 8:14 a.m. Saturday.

Owners of two more cars reported smashed windows and stolen items from a parking lot on East Boston Post Road at 8:56 a.m., police said.  

Plumbing tools worth $450 were taken after the window of a car was smashed overnight on Waverly Avenue, the victim reported at 9:15 a.m., police said.  

No arrests had been made in any of the break-ins as police continued to investigate.
