A 61-year-old Fairfield County man has been identified as the suspect who fled the scene of a hit-and-run that left a motorcyclist hospitalized in Mamaroneck on Sunday.
Police confirmed that Bridgeport resident Hugo Echeverri was arrested this week after he allegedly struck a motorcyclist shortly before 10 p.m. on Boston Post Road and proceeded to flee the scene.
The motorcyclist was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx for treatment of injuries that were believed to be non-life-threatening.
The man’s condition was not immediately available on Friday morning.
Echeverri has been charged with a felony count of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving injury. Following arraignment on the charge in Mamaroneck Village Court, he was released on bail and is due to appear back in court at a later date to answer the charge.
