MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Three police officers helped a 25-year-old Mamaroneck woman deliver a baby boy in her Grand Street home Monday at 3:45 a.m., village police said
"Most of the time, officers respond to someone’s home for negative reasons, whether it be someone who is sick or because they are the victim or a crime. It's rare that officers are present for such a joyous occasion and the department is proud of them," said Det. Sandra DiRuzza, spokesperson for the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department. The officers were identified as Tyron Davis, Mark Gatta and Plinio Trujillo.
The mother and baby were later taken by the Mamaroneck Emergency Medical Service to a nearby hospital and evaluated.
The name of the mother and child were not released.
