Daniel Thomas Jones, 25, of Weber Drive in Port Chester was arraigned by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office on a felony second-degree murder charge in the death of Arturo Arias Garcia. Jones also was arraigned on two counts of first-degree robbery, four counts of second-degree robbery, three counts of second-degree assault and six counts of fourth-degree grand larceny. He also was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Two teenage co-defendants were arraigned on Wednesday in connection with various robberies:

Nasir Blair, 18, of Glen Avenue in Port Chester was charged with a total of five counts of felony robbery, three counts of second-degree assault and four counts of grand larceny as well as criminal possession of stolen property.

Anthony Menchaca, 16, of Grace Church Street in Port Chester was charged with a total of five counts of felony robbery, three counts of second-degree assault and four counts of grand larceny as well as criminal possession of stolen property.

According to the county D.A.'s office, on Nov. 25, 2015, at approximately 2:50 a.m., the three defendants approached two men sitting in a pick-up truck located in the Stop & Shop Parking lot in Port Chester. They assaulted and robbed the victims, stealing wallets, an IPhone, cash and a bank card. Both victims suffered head injuries requiring medical treatment.

Three days later, on Nov. 28, 2015, at approximately 4:40 a.m., Arturo Arias Garcia was confronted by defendant Jones on Abendroth Avenue in Port Chester. Officials say Garcia's body was discovered in a driveway behind a Walgreens and an alarm system company.

Jones is accused of striking Garcia in the head, knocking him to the pavement. Jones proceeded to steal the victim’s cash and credit card, according to county prosecutors.

At approximately 5:10 a.m., Garcia was seen by a witness lying motionless on the sidewalk. He was observed again by that same witness at 5:30 a.m. The victim was still motionless. At 5:35 a.m., the witness called 911. Police and EMT’s responded and fond that Garcia had no pulse. They were not able to revive him.

The victim was later pronounced dead at Greenwich Hospital. An autopsy determined that Garcia died from a blunt force trauma to the head resulting in a fatal concussion.

All three defendants are due to appear in court again on July 12. Jones and Blair are in Westchester County Jail and Menchaca is out on bail.

Jones faces 25 years to life in state prison on the murder charge.
