Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino Jr. said on Tuesday that 23-year-old Yonkers resident Liam Perry had been sentenced to between two and six years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges for his role in the fatal accident.
According to Scarpino, shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, Perry was driving on Palmer Road in Yonkers, when he crossed the double yellow line near the Sunnybrook Road interection and struck his victim’s Lincoln Town Car head on.
Perry had to be extracted from his vehicle, and both he and his victim were transported to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx for treatment. Perry survived, but his victim died from injuries sustained in the crash.
An investigation revealed that Perry’s blood alcohol content was .27 percent, more than triple the legal limit.
Earlier this year, Perry pleaded guilty to felony counts of first- and second-degree vehicular manslaughter. He was also charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors.
