“The Donald J. Trump Campaign for President, which has set a historic record in the Republican primary having received almost 14 million votes, has today announced that Corey Lewandowski will no longer be working with the campaign,” campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in a statement. “The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future.”

Lewandowski was charged with simple battery after grabbing and bruising a former reporter at an event in Florida on March 8. The charges were later dropped.

Lewandowski had reportedly clashed with campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Hicks, according to multiple reports.

No replacement for Lewandowski was announced, but Manafort is expected to handle his duties.

After drawing even with Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton in national polls last month after becoming the GOP presumptive nominee, Trump's poll numbers have taken a dive with Clinton now having a double-digit lead in several polls. The slide started after controversial comments by Trump about the ethnicity of Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing the Trump University fraud case.

Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
