MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The Larchmont/Mamaroneck Daily Voice will run profiles on the candidates running for mayor and trustees in the Nov. 5 election.

Kerry Stein is a 21-year village resident and managing director at Lloyds Bank. He has coached lacrosse for a decade with the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Youth League and currently is coaching the Mamaroneck Blackhawks U-14 Travel soccer team.

Stein is a trustee and vice chairman at Franklin Pierce University, as well as a member of the Emelin Theatre Advisory board. He has been married for 23 years and has a son in eighth- grade at Hommocks Middle School and a daughter in 11th-grade at Mamaroneck High School.

Why do you want to help lead Mamaroneck? I want to help lead Mamaroneck because I believe the actions and inactions of our current mayor are detrimental to the long-term financial and environmental health of our village and the quality of life we cherish. I am convinced we can do a much better job of balancing the needs of a greater number or our village residents and keep taxes down.

What is your favorite location in Mamaroneck to spend time with your family? Harbor Island is a spot that I have spent endless hours. Coaching soccer, flying kites and model airplanes, walking and sometimes just enjoying the incredible view.

When is your birthday? April 22

What do you do for recreation? I bike ride, hike and climb and occasionally get to play soccer and ski and, best of all, work out with my two children.

Where is your favorite restaurant in the area? That’s too difficult as we have eaten at almost every restaurant in Mamaroneck Village, but if I had to pick just one, it would be Walter's (hot-dog stand).
