Stamford Old Timers Host Dinner

The Stamford Old Timers celebrated stars of yesteryear at their annual dinner Monday night at the Italian Center. The 68th annual event honored Charles Dicine, Frank Iaizzi, Ed Lane, Lou Filippetti, Rich Inzitari, Paul Rosum, Rich Rosum and Mike Walsh. Former major league manager and current ESPN analyst Bobby Valentine, a Stamford native, was among the guests. The guests were honored for their past accomplishments in athletics and for their contributions to the community. The Stamford Old Timers also support a variety of youth activities, ranging from Babe Ruth baseball programs and Pop Warner football teams to the Stamford Tennis Clinic. They also present scholar-athlete awards to high school seniors.
