Daniel Joseph Talone, 85, Of Yonkers, Owned Real Property Tax Consultants

YONKERS, N.Y. - Daniel Joseph Talone, a resident of Yonkers, died Oct. 15. He was 85.

Talone was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Yonkers, to Joseph and Mary Talone. He graduated from Saunders High School in 1947 and briefly attended New York University. He worked at his father's cabinet shop where he became a carpenter and a cabinet maker. He entered the Army Reserves in 1950 with the 332nd Aviation Engineer Battalion from Yonkers. He officially entered the Army in 1951.

While in the service, he attended school at Fort Belvoir, Va., and became a soils engineer. Upon his discharge as a staff sergeant from the Army, he worked in Bermuda and the Azores. He eventually returned to Yonkers and began working in construction. He later joined the City of Yonkers as a construction inspector for their Engineering Department. He was also a construction representative for the NY State Urban Development Corporation. He joined the Assessor's Office as Assistant City Assessor with the City of Yonkers and retired in 1992. In 1993, he started his own company, Real Property Tax Consultants which just recently celebrated its 20th year in business. He was a member of the Men's Glee Club of Yonkers, the Mount Carmel Men's Club, and sang in the Mt. Carmel Church choir.

Talone is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Maria (Michael) Paulercio, Daniella (Raymond) Fennell, Annie, and Joseph (Danielle); five grandchildren; sister, Gloria Talone; and many nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Anne Raffa, Frances Moccia, and Rita D'Ambrosio.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Yonkers. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
