Westport School Board Seeks GOP Member To Fill Vacancy

WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Board of Education is looking for candidates to fill the vacancy left by Jennifer Tooker's resignation.

Tooker recently resigned to join the town's Board of Finance, and the board is looking to appoint a new member by Dec. 16, according to a press release. The successful candidate would serve from December until the next Board of Education election scheduled for November 2015, according to the release. 

Candidates interested in being considered for the position should be: 

  • A registered Republican;
  • Willing to be interviewed separately by the Republican Town Committee and the Board of Education prior to appointment;
  • Available for an interview with the Board of Education during the evenings of Dec. 9 and/or Dec. 15; and
  • Willing to serve and attend Board of Education meetings immediately upon appointment, which appointment will likely take place on Dec. 16.

Letters of application must be submitted to the Board of Education by no later than noon Dec. 4, either by email or in person. Candidates can send letters to:
