PELHAM, N.Y. Pelham residents are enjoying the warm winter weather that has them thinking Mother Nature skipped a few months and went straight to summer, according to two women discussing the weather at Village Wine and Liquor. The Pelhamites were greeted with a 60 degree Thursday, which is not exactly a normal February temperature.
Harry Engstrom, the assistant court clerk in Pelham, loved the warm and sunny day.
Its just a wonderful day, said Engstrom. Theyre all wonderful days. The longtime resident also said that he would not mind some snow before winter ends.
Much to Engstroms chagrin, snow is not in the forecast this week for Pelham, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). However, precipitation will fall as the temperature dips down to 43 degrees overnight and it starts to rain at 12 a.m.
The rain is expected to continue until 5 p.m. on Friday as the temperature hits 52 degrees during the day, according to the NWS.
It will be partly cloudy and windy on Saturday with a high of 46 degrees and a low of 28. Pelham residents will see a sunny Sunday as the temperature rises to 45 degrees and comes down to 32, according to the NWS.
The temperature will rise again to the low 50s on a mostly sunny Monday, according to the NWS.
