WESTON, Conn. Newtown held on to defeat Weston, 8-7, in a South-West Conference boys lacrosse game Thursday at Newtown High School.
Newtown led 6-4 before Weston scored three times in the fourth quarter. Newtown netted two fourth-quarter goals to earn the victory.
Lyle Mitchell and Sean Fumai had two goals and an assist for the Trojans, 2-2. Jack Scheufele, Richie Miller and Grey Bradshaw-Mack also scored. Scheufele dished out two assists, and Zach Kraft also had an assist.
Grant Limone made 15 saves in net for Weston, which meets North Rockland, N.Y., at home on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Justin Brophy scored four goals for Newtown.
