SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. Frequent collaborators Zuill Bailey and Navah Perlman will travel to Sleepy Hollow next week for a special performance at Sleepy Hollow High School, followed by the Westchester premiere of Juilliard Baroque.
The Friends of Music Concerts series will host Bailey and Perlman at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in the Kusel Auditorium. The program includes music from Chopin, Brahms and Bach.
Bailey, a cellist, has performed at the Kennedy Center, the United Nations, Alice Tully Hall, the 92nd Street Y and Carnegie Hall. Bailey has also performed with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra during its 50th anniversary tour of Russia.
Violinist Perlman performs regularly with Bailey and violinist Philippe Quint as a chamber music trio, as well several professional groups such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony, Montreal Symphony and the National Symphony of Mexico. She is the daughter of violinist Itzhak Perlman.
Julliard Baroque will perform an all-Bach program at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 12, in the Kusel Auditorium.
Juilliard Baroque was founded in 2009 by several faculty members in The Juilliard School's Department of Historical Performance. Members have won several awards for their skills and have performed with a host of international early music ensembles. The group is lead by violinist and artistic director Monica Huggett.
Tickets to both Sleepy Hollow concerts cost $30 for adults and $15 for students. Tickets can be ordered through the mail or at the door. Parking will be free.
The Friends of Music Concerts is a nonprofit organization founded in 1953 that brings a wide variety of chamber orchestra musicians to Westchester.
