Shrub Oak Man Charged With Having Suspended License, Marijuana Possession

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a Shrub Oak resident for possession of marijuana and driving without a valid license.

A police officer on patrol Saturday, Jan. 9, observed a red Volkswagen Jetta allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed on Stony St. at approximately 12:58 p.m., officials report.

The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as Sean B. Deleon, 20, according to police.

An investigation conducted at the scene revealed that Deleon’s New York State driver’s license was allegedly suspended, and that the vehicle was unregistered, uninspected, uninsured, had no front license plate and an improper rear license plate, police report.

Additionally, it was alleged that Deleon was in possession of more than 25 grams of marijuana, according to officials.

Deleon was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters, police report.

He was charged with criminal possession of marijuana fifth degree, a class B misdemeanor, and aggravated unlicensed operation third degree, an unclassified misdemeanor, police report.

He was additionally charged with speed in zone, unregistered motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, improper plates and no front plate, all traffic violations, according to police.

Following processing on the charges, Deleon was issued an appearance ticket and traffic summons, then released on $250 bail, officials report.

He is scheduled to answer the charges against him in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, Feb. 9, police report.
