Female director Alice Guy Blache gets graveside kudos as Fort Lee icon

An annual graveside memorial was held Thursday for Fort Lee pioneer Alice Guy Blache – the first woman director in cinema history – who is buried in Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. Among the group attending were members of the Fort Lee Film Commission, who are pushing for Blache’s induction next year into the Directors Guild of America.
