This week, a 65-year-old retired computer programmer from Harford County was at Maryland Lottery Headquarters to collect his seven-figure prize after winning big on a "Multi-Match" ticket he purchased over the summer, authorities say.

In June, the lucky Lottery player - who previously boasted a $10,000 win on his favorite game - purchased a ticket at the Wawa store on East Churchville Road in Fountain Green, where he is a regular.

On the day of his momentous drawing, the Bel Air man chose his own numbers for the first line, then let fate take over with two lines of quick-picks.

Sure enough, Lady Luck was smiling on him, and one of the computer-generated picks all hit and won him the jackpot.

Unable to believe his eyes, he checked his ticket for a win and got a "See Lottery" message, and he later confirmed it with the store manager, who said that a jackpot-winning "Multi-Match" ticket had indeed been sold at that Wawa.

The lucky winner told Lottery officials that he just silently nodded and agreed, and the store manager knew that he was the winner.

With his newfound windfall, the man says that he's going to pay off some debts and then jet off to Las Vegas for what he said is a "much needed vacation."
